ABOUT

Oren

Oren Osovski has been a licensed general contractor for 17 years, and a real estate agent for the past decade. So, he has expertise not just in real estate, but in understanding construction costs, local building codes, and the structural quality of homes. He also understands what kinds of upgrades can add the best dollar-for-dollar returns for homeowners, while simultaneously enhancing their quality of life. That experience puts him in a unique position to accurately assess the potential value of any property – which is a tremendous asset to his real estate clients. Quality Not Quantity Osovski specializes in high-end construction, and is experienced with everything from 1,000 square foot apartments to 8,000 square foot homes. “I studied design and architecture before I came here,” he explains, “and when I got to L.A. I worked as a project manager in a big construction company. But everything they did was about doing it as fast as possible on the lowest budget, which I didn’t like. That’s why I started my own construction company, where the focus is always on quality, not quantity.” A testament to his high standards is that he doesn’t do any advertising, because all of his construction customers come by word of mouth. But despite that success, real estate is his real passion. “I have a lot of know-how that other people in the real business don’t have, that I can use to help buyers who want a property that will fit both their current and future needs.”

Quality of Life Plus Equity He also works with sellers to help them make their homes more attractive to buyers for a faster sale at a higher price. “Most homes in this area need something, and I consult with sellers and we decide what to do – whether it’s new windows, baseboards, paint, countertops, light fixtures, or whatever it takes. Then I put my team on it and before you know it, the home is ready.” But he notices that one mistake many homeowners make is that they don’t invest in upgrades and renovations like a new kitchen, bathroom, pool, or extra square footage until they are ready to sell. “One of the most important things is to let yourself enjoy those upgrades,” Osovski says.

“Don’t wait until you’re about to sell and move, so that only your buyer will have the features and amenities you and your family didn’t have a chance to enjoy. As long as you have the budget, why not go ahead and do those things while you’re still living in the home? You’ll get to enjoy them now, and they’ll still contribute value when you sell.”
